Our meticulously designed courses immerse you in real-life scenarios, where you can immediately apply the skills and techniques specific to your lessons. No more watching theoretical knowledge that is poorly understood and just gathers dust on the shelf in your mind.
You will have the invaluable opportunity to learn from industry masters in real time face to face. Picture yourself working side by side with a mentor who will guide you every step of the way. Adapting to your learning approach and personalising each and every lesson so you get the most from them.
You will also get to use the latest equipment and software as well as a broad range of different setups for different situations. Think of it like walking into a showroom of equipment and getting a turn to learn on each model!
We firmly believe that action is the key to accelerated learning, long-lasting knowledge retention, and the attainment of your learning goals. Humanising the learning experience is a necessity in our lives when we are being pushed more and more to screens.
Our facilities includes multiple rooms and areas for lessons, practise, assessments, and project work. Equipment and software available is extensive and upon request can be setup in different configurations prior to lessons & practice or project sessions. DJ, producer, remixer, and kids courses are all conducted in these areas with some crossover between areas depending on the course and what session you are doing.
DJ ROOM 1 – PURPLE ROOM
Our prime DJ room, we always try to maintain a “club ready” setup here. With space for add-ons like laptops, drum machines & drum pads, this is usually your starting point for any DJ course with us. Lighting is also key in this room with LED lighting available to give it that right atmosphere when needed. A favourite with students for booking practise sessions in or filming / recording / streaming their DJ sets in.
DJ ROOM 2 – BLUE ROOM
Our most versatile DJ room, it is here that custom or mobile all-in-one configurations are usually setup. With the extra space available it is also good for 3 or 4 deck mixing, live remixing/performance rigs, and laptop with midi-controller setups. With the full size windows to the trees outside (blockout blinds also installed), it can be a perfect daytime room to breath some fresh air into your sessions.
CLASSROOM AREA
The largest of all our areas. This creative space is furnished with long wooden high tables that can be configured based on the session requirements. Generally setup in a “U” shape around a long main front table, students will eventually have lessons and assessments out in this area, even if not in a group scenario, as this gives you the chance to feel and hear your music in a larger setting. Not un-common for other students in the waiting area to catch a glimpse of a session or two before their own.
STUDIO 1 – GREY ROOM
The more cosy and raw of the two production studio rooms. There is a nice long table with plenty of room to bring out the hardware synths, setup a laptop, and get busy producing using the Ableton Push 3 and midi keyboards. With a few turntables in the room for sampling this is a great space to get the creative ideas flowing or lay down some rhythms and beats. Also has a nice control room view into Studio 2 – Red Room.
STUDIO 2 – RED ROOM
Designed for recording and the more complex side of producing. This room’s acoustic treatment and technology setup is next level. A great creative space free of distraction to get the “the business” side of producing done. Great for 2-to-1 sessions as well as project work considering the extra space. Instruments and vocal recording is mostly handled in this room.
PERFORMANCE AREA
Any of our in-house events utilise this area for main performances. Made famous by our SONIC KITCHEN live streaming performance & talk show, the space’s primary function is for showcasing talent, filming, streaming and content capture. Students that graduate may have the opportunity to perform in this area for both student nights as well as our streaming events.
What’s the difference between all the courses and how do I choose?
We offer a variety of learning paths:
· Introductory Sessions: Perfect for a taste of our DJ and Producer programs. Choose from Intro “Single” or "With a Friend". If you have 2 or 3 friends who would like to also have an introductory session with you, then try out our Group Class (3-4 people).
· Accelerator DJ Program: Our popular subscription-based DJ program, designed to take you from basics to performance-ready for public gigs, and our Student Sonic Kitchen in-house event series.
· Foundation Producer Program : Our compressive courses to learn the craft of producing your own tracks.
· Specialist Courses: Dive deep into specific skills with our Remixer, Mixing with Vinyl, Scratching, Sound Design, and Electronic Music Theory courses.
· Accelerator Expand: Want it all? Complete a foundation or accelerator program and this subscription will let you mix and match any course, switch between instructors, and explore our full curriculum one month at a time. Includes also room hire! Design your own perfect learning journey with this power up!.
Not sure where to start? Book a free studio tour—we'll help you choose the perfect path for your goals.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Absolutely! Our Introductory Session is designed as the perfect trial session. It gives you a hands-on feel for our teaching style, world-class studios, and equipment with no long-term commitment. You can try as a single, with a friend, or in group class.
I have no musical background. Can I take a DJ, Music Production, or any of the specialist courses?
You can start with a short Introductory course for a perfect teaser, or dive straight into a full Foundation or Accelerator program as they also cater for students with no experience. Our approach is to personalise every lesson to your starting point, guiding you step-by-step from the very beginning to your moment of success.
We do recommend however that you have previous experience and knowledge before trying any of the specialist courses. These are usually best done after completing an Accelerator or Foundation program.
Can I visit the studio for a tour?
Absolutely! We encourage it. Studio tour hours are Monday–Friday, 11 am–7:30 pm. Tours on Saturdays or outside these hours can be arranged by request via WhatsApp +852 94220367.
What is the language of the lessons?
Classes are taught in English. Cantonese-speaking instructors are available upon request.
What's your student community like? Can I meet other DJs/producers?
Community is key! Through our Student Sonic Kitchen performances, social events, public gigs, and shared practice spaces, you'll have plenty of opportunities to connect, collaborate, and build your network within Hong Kong's vibrant music scene.
Can a friend and I take lessons together?
Yes! Our "With a Friend" option lets you share the learning journey (and the cost). You'll learn together with one instructor. Select the "With a Friend" option when purchasing any applicable course package for the best value.
Lesson Schedules
Your schedule, your pace. Lessons can be scheduled seven days a week, and we work with you to create a plan that fits your life—whether you prefer a fixed weekly slot or a more flexible approach to accommodate travel or other commitments.
For the fastest progress, we generally recommend a rhythm of one lesson per week, or alternating a lesson week with a practice/project session week. This consistent approach builds skills rapidly and gets you to your goals sooner!
We encourage booking regular slots with your favourite instructor to maintain momentum, and we recommend planning ahead as their diaries fill up quickly.
For Group Classes, we work with everyone to set a fixed date and time.
What is the Accelerator Expand program?
Accelerator Expand is the flexible next step for graduates of our DJ Accelerator Complete program or other Sol Passion Music programs, subject to management approval.
For a monthly fee, you maintain your "Enrolled Student" status with benefits. Each month includes 3 private lessons (90min each) and 1 practice session room hire (90min) for DJing or Music Production. You can mix and match courses and instructors across our full curriculum to build your own learning path.
It's designed for ongoing growth with no minimum commitment—you may cancel at any time by providing 7 days' written notice before your next monthly billing date.
I have no musical background. Can I take a Specialist course?
You can, but we strongly recommend first building a foundation through our Accelerator or Foundation programs. Specialist skills (like scratching or sound design) are much easier to master once you understand the basics. This way, you'll get much more value and progress faster in your specialist training.
Do you offer performance opportunities?
Yes! Students who complete their program may be eligible for performances like our Student Sonic Kitchen or public gigs. Eligibility criteria are outlined in the relevant program Terms & Conditions.
What happens if I don't like my instructor?
Chemistry is important! If your assigned instructor isn't the right fit, please let our Student Success team know. We'll work with you to find a better match from our talented team of instructors.
Is there any discounts available?
Yes! Our UPFRONT & SAVE payment option on our programs offer great savings compared to the monthly instalments payment plans.
In the Accelerator program it also unlocks a12-month expiry of your course. Giving you versatility to complete your course over a longer period. Very handy if you know you might be travelling for extended periods during your course and need some flexibility with your lesson and practice schedule.
How do I pay for a course?
We accept credit cards, FPS, Alipay, bank transfers, and cash. Payment must be completed before your first lesson is confirmed. You can place your order online or visit our reception for assistance.
Ok, I'm ready to buy one of your courses. What do I do, and what happens after I do?
Firstly, you will need to choose the number of participants within the course you have decided on. Depending on the option and deal you choose this will display a price. For foundation or accelerator programs, you will have an additional payment plan field, which you can choose to pay all up front and save, monthly (accelerator program courses only) OR instalments (foundation program courses only). From here, click the “ADD TO BASKET” button. This will take you to the CART page, where you can see the course you have selected and its price. If you have a coupon code it is here that you can enter it.
From the CART page, if you don’t have a coupon code, then you just hit the “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT” button. This will take you to the CHECKOUT PAGE with different payment method options. At this point, you will need to enter your contact details and create an account with us prior to purchase. This is IMPORTANT as we use your contact details to enter you into our booking system as well as communicate with you on your course scheduling (plus any other relevant details about your course). If you have been in contact with us before, please use those contact details so everything matches up in our system.
Once you have entered your contact details, you need to choose a payment method and complete your purchase.
· If you select credit card, a space will display for you to enter your card details.
· If you choose Bank Transfer (FPS is also accepted), you will have the option to copy the details provided on screen, or an email with these details will be sent to you after clicking the “PLACE ORDER” button.
Once you have completed any of these methods and clicked the “PLACE ORDER” button, you will receive an email confirming your purchase and enrollment into our booking system.
NOTE for Bank Transfers: Your enrollment order will be placed on hold, pending confirmation of payment. Once you have made the manual transfer, please take a screenshot of the confirmation and send it to either [email protected] or via WhatsApp. Once we receive the screenshot, we will confirm it with our Accounts Team and then process your enrollment.
With your enrollment confirmed, our Admin Team will get in contact with you—first via WhatsApp, and if that is unsuccessful, then via email. This begins the process of finalizing your preferred schedule for the first session of your course (if you haven’t already discussed this with us prior to purchase). We may ask for more details about your level of music experience or preferences to assign the right instructor. If this has already been covered, we will simply confirm your first lesson time and date.
If your preferred payment method is only available in person at our studio (American Express, Union Pay, WeChat Pay, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or CASH), please confirm this with us via WhatsApp. We will manually raise the enrollment order in our system and confirm a date for you to come to the studio to pay (which can be on the day of your first lesson, just prior to it starting).
From there, it’s time to get excited! You are officially enrolled and scheduled to finally start your musical journey!
Who can I contact for scheduling or changes?
All scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation requests must be sent to our admin team via WhatsApp at +852 9408 8920. Think of them as your music academy assistant - helping you to book in your lessons and practice sessions as well as keeping you accountable to progress in your musical journey!
As such, we kindly ask that students do not contact instructors directly. They are not aware of room and equipment availabilities, or if you have remaining lessons/practice sessions available. That's what our admin and student success teams are for!
How do I get in contact for more questions?
Email us at [email protected] or you can call/WhatsApp us on +852 9422 0367. We will generally follow-up with you within 24hours.
For the Accelerator Program – how does lesson and practice room carryover work?
· Can I carry unused lessons into the next month?
Yes! You can carry over a maximum of 3 lessons and 2 practice room sessions to the following month. This helps you manage a busy schedule without losing your credits.
· What if I don’t use my carried-over lessons?
Carried-over lessons and practice sessions must be scheduled and completed within the next consecutive billing cycles. If you do not use them within the next months, they expire and are forfeited. You can, however, carry over a new set of unused credits (up to 3 lessons and 2 practice sessions) each month throughout your program, as long as you stay within the monthly and total carryover limits. To avoid losing credits, you can also use an approved program pause (to schedule them in the pause month) or, upon cancellation, request an extension month.
· Can I use my program pause to catch up?
Absolutely. Your one program pause can be used to schedule and complete any carried-over lessons and practice sessions.
For full details on limits, please see the "Lesson & Practice Room Session Carryover" and "Expiration Policy" in our Terms & Conditions.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes, under specific conditions.
· Accelerator subscribers (Essential, Core, Complete) are entitled to one (1) pause per program.
· Accelerator Expand subscribers are entitled to two (2) pauses within a 12-month period, but they cannot be taken consecutively (e.g., you could take one pause every six months).
A pause temporarily stops your monthly payment and the addition of new credits for one billing cycle. Please see the "Pause Policy" in our Terms & Conditions for details on how to request a pause.
For the Accelerator Program – can I extend my course if I need more time?
Yes, you may request a one-month extension to your program duration.
· How do I request an extension?
Submit your request in writing before your final program billing date. This gives you an additional month to complete the lessons you've carried over based on the carryover policy.
· How many lessons can I complete in the extension month?
You can complete a maximum of 3 lessons and 2 practice room sessions during the extension month, provided these are credits carried over from your original program.
· Does a pause affect my extension?
No, a program pause does not count toward your program duration and does not affect your eligibility for an extension.
Example: A student on a 5-month program who takes a 1-month pause could have a total duration of 7 months (5 program months + 1 pause month + 1 extension month).
Please note: This is a summary. For full details and terms, please refer to the "Extension Policy" within our official Terms & Conditions.
For the Accelerator Program – am I eligible to perform before finishing all my lessons?
To qualify for Student Sonic Kitchen performances and public gigs, you must successfully complete the entire required lesson count for your specific Accelerator program (Essential, Core, or Complete).
· What if my lessons expire before I finish?
If your lessons expire and you have not completed the required number of sessions, you will not be eligible for performances.
To regain eligibility, you may purchase additional private studio sessions to complete the required lesson count.
If I'm in a group course, will my lesson be rescheduled if I can't make it?
Unfortunately no. As it is unfair to other students who attended the class, we will not reschedule the group course lessons. However, we will try to summarise what was taught in the previous lesson that you missed and give you practise time during the next lesson to catch-up as best as possible.
· If the majority of people can’t make the following lesson, can the lesson be rescheduled?
Yes. If the group agrees to it we can reschedule the following lesson.
What are your cancellation and rescheduling policies?
The Golden Rule: We need 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel a session without a fee. For Sunday or Monday classes, please let us know by Saturday at 7:00 PM.
Late Cancellation or No-Show? A fee applies (HKD 150 for lessons / HKD 50 for practice rooms) because that reserved time couldn't be offered to another student. Don't worry—your lesson or practice credit remains valid to reschedule!
Life happens. In a genuine emergency, just talk to us. We're human and we'll do our best to help where we can. For the full details, please see the "Rescheduling & Cancellations" section in our Terms & Conditions.
Do my lessons or practice sessions expire?
Yes, think of your credits like a summer hit track—they have a shelf life! To ensure fair access and consistent progress for all students:
· Course & Practice Room Packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
· Accelerator Subscription credits must be used within the active billing period, including any approved pause or extension, and are subject to the "Lesson & Practice Room Session Carryover" policy.
Unused credits cannot be carried over, rescheduled, or refunded after expiry. Please see the "Expiration Policy" in our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Do I need to bring anything for classes
Our studios are equipped with state-of-the-art music equipment. Everything you need to get started is provided. As you progress, you will likely need to bring your own laptop. You do not need to buy your own music equipment before your course begins. When the time is right, we're happy to recommend gear you can purchase directly from us at some of the best prices in Hong Kong!
Can I rent your studios or equipment without taking lessons?
Yes! Our practice rooms and professional equipment are available for hire to everyone. Students with an active "Enrolled Student" status receive special rental rates. Please contact us for availability and pricing.
If I want to start in a month, what's the benefit of paying now?
This option lets you secure a promotional price or added benefits before they expire, even if your schedule doesn't allow you to start immediately. Pay for your program or course to lock in the offer. You can start once you have the time, and the expiration date is based on the full course or program you choose (pauses are also available). Paying early also lets you secure your favourite day and time with your preferred instructor, subject to their availability.
What if I have to move abroad or leave Hong Kong during my course?
We understand life changes. Please contact us to discuss your situation. Options may include individual arrangements, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
